Toyota is planning to establish such a system to track the whole process of the vehicle supply chain. In the first stage, the reusable tags are used to monitor vehicles in the assembly workshop. In the second stage, they use disposable paper RFID tags to track parts and finished vehicles, and implement vehicle tracking management in their distribution centers. In the third stage, Toyota is planning to use RFID in the retail field. RFID will be permanently retained on the vehicle and used throughout its life cycle. The information on RFID will include customer information and original production data.
In addition, RFID can also be used as an anti-counterfeiting mark of some parts. For example, electronic tags can be implanted into tires, engines, airbags, transmission shafts and other parts to distinguish counterfeit parts and protect the legitimate rights and interests of consumers with their encryption and automatic identification functions. We are also trying to use RFID to manage the compressed natural gas vehicle cylinders. The RFID tag that stores information such as the cylinder manufacturer, filling time and filling frequency can be attached to the cylinder so as to monitor the use of the gas cylinder, recover the expired cylinder in time, and reduce the potential danger in the use process.
