For a long time, people have been struggling to record the flow of books or archives and find the information quickly. The traditional method is to make a large number of written records in the data and the record book, but this method is inefficient, it is not convenient to view, and there is a hidden danger of theft and loss.
In an era of more and more pursuit of cost and efficiency, people are constantly looking for better technologies and methods to manage books and archives. The RFID based library automation system can greatly improve the management mode, improve the work efficiency, liberate the library and archives staff, and let them engage in more valuable work.
(1) Management and storage of books and archives: When new books and archives are stored, the newly-built books and archives are cataloged according to the category, year, author and other relevant information of the books and archives, and RFID tags for books are generated. Then, according to the printed data, write and print RFID tags, and paste the printed RFID book tags on the book files for readers to consult. At the same time, the successfully printed data will be transmitted to the database of the data center for other modules of the system to call and query.
(2) Circulation management: Circulation management is divided into borrowing management module, return management module and anti-theft and anti-damage module.
When borrowing, the system will first verify the identity of the borrower and enter the borrowing management system after passing the verification. The borrower checks the cataloguing number of the book file through the inquiry management system. The system finds the location of the book file according to the entered cataloguing number and prints out the borrowing form at the same time. The administrator uses the handheld RFID tag reader to read the information written in the RFID of the book file borrowed by the borrower, and the information automatically enters the system management interface. The administrator writes the fixed information of the borrowed book file in the RFID tag, including the borrower's name, unit, lending time, borrowing period and other information, and then gives the book file to the borrower to complete the borrowing management.
When the book file is returned, the administrator uses the hand-held RFID tag reader to read the book file, check whether the borrower's information and borrowing time are overdue, and confirm whether the borrowed book file data is the same as the information in the RFID tag. If there is any problem in this process, the system will enter the corresponding processing module for processing, and if there is no problem, it will be sent back to the corresponding location according to the location information of the book file in RFID.
