DTB RFID Shares Industry Insights at RAIN in Action 2026 on RAIN RFID and Digital Product Identity

From September 29 to October 1, 2026, RAIN in Action 2026 brought together RFID professionals, technology providers, and end users from around the world in Madrid, Spain.

Under the theme “RAIN: From Infrastructure to Impact,” the event focused on how RAIN RFID is expanding from basic identification applications into broader use cases involving supply chain visibility, product lifecycle management, and digital product identity.

The event gathered companies across the RFID value chain, including chip manufacturers, RFID tag suppliers, reader providers, software developers, system integrators, and end users. Through technical presentations, application case studies, and industry discussions, participants examined the latest developments in RAIN RFID adoption across retail, logistics, manufacturing, healthcare, and sustainability-related applications.

DTB RFID joined the event to exchange perspectives with global industry partners and discuss changing market requirements, RFID application trends, and the growing importance of reliable tag performance in real-world deployments.

RAIN RFID Expands Beyond Inventory Management

One of the key topics at RAIN in Action 2026 was the expanding role of RFID across different industries.

While RFID has traditionally been used for identification and inventory management, companies are now applying the technology to improve traceability, operational visibility, authentication, and product lifecycle management.

The integration of RFID with technologies such as IoT, artificial intelligence, computer vision, cloud platforms, and digital identity systems is creating new opportunities to connect physical products with digital information.

For industries including apparel, retail, logistics, and manufacturing, RFID tags are becoming an important part of data collection and product identification processes throughout the supply chain.

Digital Product Passport Drives New RFID Applications

Digital Product Passport (DPP) was another major focus during the event.

With regulations such as the European Union’s Ecodesign for Sustainable Products Regulation (ESPR) moving forward, manufacturers, brands, and supply chain companies are paying closer attention to how product information can be collected, managed, and shared throughout a product’s lifecycle.

The RAIN RFID DPP Evolution Model released by RAIN Alliance highlights how RFID-enabled product identity can support applications beyond regulatory compliance, including product authentication, inventory management, repair, recycling, second-hand markets, and circular economy initiatives.

During the DPP session on October 1, industry experts discussed global regulatory developments and the potential impact of new requirements on RFID adoption.

DTB RFID founder Catherine Zhang participated in the roundtable discussion:

“Digital Product Passports and the Global Regulatory Landscape: What the New Rules Mean for RAIN”

The discussion brought together representatives from companies and organizations including Impinj, H&M, Avery Dennison, and RAIN Alliance.

During the session, Catherine Zhang shared observations from the Chinese RFID market and exchanged views with global experts on DPP development, the role of RAIN RFID in digital product identity, and differences in adoption across regional markets.

As companies worldwide prepare for more transparent product information management, reliable RFID tags and stable supply capabilities are becoming increasingly important for successful deployments.

Connecting RFID Manufacturing Experience With Global Applications

For DTB RFID, participation in RAIN in Action 2026 provided valuable insight into global RFID trends, application requirements, and the evolving needs of integrators and end users.

As an RFID tag manufacturer, DTB RFID focuses on developing and producing RFID tags for applications including apparel, retail, logistics, asset management, and industrial environments.

Different applications require different tag structures, materials, read performance, and durability levels. Working closely with customers and integration partners allows DTB RFID to provide RFID tags designed for specific operating conditions and deployment requirements.

With OEM/ODM capabilities and experience in RFID tag manufacturing, DTB RFID works with partners worldwide to deliver customized tag products for various industries.

In December 2026, DTB RFID will collaborate with RAIN Alliance and Impinj to co-host the RAIN Alliance Asia Pacific Winter Forum in Shenzhen.

DTB RFID looks forward to continuing discussions with global RFID professionals and sharing insights on the practical adoption of RFID technology across industries.
