Radio Frequency Identification (RFID) is the use of radio frequency waves to transfer, which is a non-contact method of data collection. Currently, three frequency ranges are mainly used for RFID transmissions – Low Frequency, High Frequency, and Ultra-High Frequency.
Normally, a RFID system is consist of three parts: a scanning antenna, a transceiver and a transponder. When the scanning antenna and transceiver are combined, they are called RFID readers. We have two types of RFID readers -- desktop readers and handheld readers. The RFID readers are connected to Internet, they can be portable or attached. The RFID scanner uses radio waves to identify and collect informantion of the transponder, the transponder can be a RFID tag or RFID card which varies from the application of different types of RFID products.
